For the excavation campaign 2013 the excavation house was enlarged. Here is the Hittite religious center of Nerik. In the 2nd millenium B.C. the Hittites ruled an empire that reached from western Turkey (Troja belonged to the Hittite empire) to the borders of Egypt.
