硫磺谷特別景觀區位於泉源路南側，中正山南麓、石壇山和大砲岩北側、行義路惇敘工商西側，是北投磺港溪的上游。谷地長約1公里，寬約80至200公尺，谷內有多處噴氣孔、硫氣孔和地熱溫泉，白煙繚繞，熱氣滾滾，一縷縷自谷地升起，頗為壯觀，是北投溫泉的源頭，國家公園管理處在此設有免費停車場、步道、涼亭、解說亭、眺望平台。
