Deutschordensschloss Mergentheim 2011
Baden-Wuerttemberg

The „Mergentheimer Deutschordensschloss " was the residence of the high-and German masters of the Teutonic Order. Important guests like the Emperor and influential princes were received. 1626 the inner core of the castle was expanded. It came to the castle grounds, as seen in the panorama. These include the “Hauptportalbau”, the bridge over the moat and the firm-and archives building.

More About Bavaria

The “Free State of Bavaria” is renowned for being culturally unique and for the emphasis which it places on preserving its heritage and traditions. It is also extraordinarily beautiful, boasting a plethora of castles, palaces, cathedrals, abbeys and monasteries not to mention spectacular scenery. Bavaria is more than Alps, men in “lederhosen” (leather pants), women in “dirndl” (traditional dresses) and frothy glasses of beer by the “maβ” (liter).
