At the Außenalster (Outer Alster) in Hamburg. The Alster river is dammed in the centre of Hamburg, where it forms two artificial lakes in the city - the smaller Binnenalster (inner Alster) and the bigger Außenalster (outer Alster). The Außenalster along with the surrounding parks (which had been a closed private area until 1952) are a favourite recreational area in the heart of the city, for the residents as well as for professionals.
