Panorama of the Pitt Water Nature Reserve and Tasman Highway. The Pitt Water Nature Reserve is a wetland system which provides habitat for migratory and resident birds and an estuarine ecosystem for marine life. Together with the Orielton Lagoon the whole wetland covering an area of 3,334 hectares was declared a Ramsar site in 1994.
