Pulai Stream Sitoushe War Road
Taiwan

Pulai Stream Sitoushe War Road was built during the Japanese occupation. The Japanese soldiers laid out a three-kilometer footpath along the mountain ridge of the Meilong Mountain as a deterrent against attacks by aborigines. The footpath is about 450 to 500 meters above sea level. It has become a recreational trail where plants of various kinds thrive, mainly mango orchards, bamboo groves, and plum gardens. The trail is a great spot for panoramic views as one can see as far as the Baolai hot springs area and the surrounding mountains.
