We are in the building of "La Nau" the old main building of the University of Valencia, in particular in its main courtyard. Although the University had its beginnings around the year 1500 in this same place, the current image came from half of the nineteenth century in which he took the elegant and symmetrical appearance.
Currently out of academic use because of space reasons, it has been converted into one of the cultural spaces that provides the University with various activities (See cultural agenda).
It is not necessary to attend some of their activities to visit it. The patio is worth a short visit just to enjoy its tranquility, and a few meters of a major rush. Personally, I oftem cross it on that basis.
The picture was taken during the preparation of the exhibition "Trenor. L'Exposition d'una gran família burgesa" caused by commemoration during the 2009 of the Valencian Regional Exhibition of 1909, and by the evocation of his main inspirer Tomás Trenor, a member of a distinguished family of the bourgeois Valencia of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, that came from Limerick (Ireland).
