Valdecarzana Palace, in Ferrería Street
Asturias
The oldest civil building in Avilés Dating from the XIVth century, the Valdecarzana Palace must have belonged to a rich merchant. The ground floor would be the merchandises store, and the family would live on the first floor. Thi is the oldest civil bulding in Avilés.
Ferrería Street is also the oldest one in Avilés. The houses had little porches to protect people from the rain and the sun, and were also used by craftsmen to work.
