Cingshuei Temple
Taiwan

Located in Linyuan District, the hundred-year-old Cingshuei Temple was founded in 1666. It mainly enshrines Shakyamuni Buddha and Guanyin Bodhisattva, cultivating a herald of believers from all over Linyuan and Daliao District and enjoys perennial incense heyday. Its founding is endorsed with mystical color as legend goes that a local farmer who surprised to find glaring light on the way to farming when passing by the Cingshueiyan. He spotted on the tree hangs a red incense bag, which imprinted on both sides the Shakyamuni Buddha and Guanyin Bodhisattva. As the event known throughout the neighborhood, locals were inspired to build a temple. After reconstruction engineering undertaken in 1964, Cingshuei Temple has become increasingly quiet and beautiful, with plants and flowers decorated in the surroundings, as well as pavilions erected for pilgrims to take a rest.
