Im Kraftwerk der Maxhütte befinden sich mehrer gasbefeuerte Dampfkessel. In einer an das Kesselhaus anschließenden Halle stehen Turbinen. Das Kesselhaus ist in vielen Etagen begehbar.
Die Maxhütte wurde 2002 stillgelegt und bietet eine Vielzahl interessanter Fotomotive. Das illegale Betreten der Hütte ist verboten und führt zu einer Anzeige. Das Herumklettern in der Industrieanlage ist lebensgefährlich!
