Snowshoeing along the old horse railway near Quyon, Quebec.
Province du Quebec
A horse-drawn railway was built in 1847 to bring steamboat travellers and goods 3.5 miles (5.5 km) from Pontiac Bay to Union Village above the impassable Chats Falls on the Ottawa River near Quyon, Quebec. By 1877, the region had alternative railway and roads, so the horse railway ceased operations.
