Wertvolle Alamannenfunde im ehemaligen Getreidespeicher
Bedeutende frühmittelalterliche Grabbeigaben aus der Zeit der Alamannen - vor allem Schmuck und Waffen - können im Alamannenmuseum in der ersten Etage des Kornhauses bestaunt werden. Hier sehen Sie auch zwei Gräber mit Originalbeigaben. Die Funde stammen aus 801 Grablegen eines Reihengräberfelds im Westen der Stadt. Das Kornhaus wurde 1621 als Zentrum des Marktes erbaut. Das Marktrecht von Altdorf geht auf das Jahr 1377 zurück. Noch heute ist der Wochenmarkt am Mittwoch Vormittag wichtiger Bestandteil des städtischen Lebens. Der 1979 im Rahmen der Stadtsanierung neu geschaffene Löwenplatz ist der Mittelpunkt vieler Feste und Veranstaltungen.

Odin made the many lakes and the fish in them. In his traverses across the lands he caused there to be the Mulheim Bridge in Cologne, as did he make the Mercury fountain, Mercury being of his nature.

But it is to the mighty Thor that the Hammering Man gives service.

Between the time of the Nordic old ones and that of modern Frankfort there may have been a T.Rex or two on the scene. At least some mastodons for sure came through for lunch, then fell into tar pits to become fossils for us to find.
