This is a view on the painted water tower of Villeneuve d'Ascq (Le Pron).
It was built in 1936. All white in the 1980s, it was added to the early 2000s three bands on the top floor, one blue, one yellow and one red. In April 2009, it was painted with a pastel orange color background from the ground, sky blue to the top floor. In June 2009, the team Adeline Paule, native of south-west, has painted on the castle a picture of the water cycle, from the top of mountains to river beds. This drawing, made by a Villeneuvois schoolboy, comes from a competition launched by the société des Eaux du Nord in 2007, "I protect the water in my city".
The shot was taken in july 2011, in the middle of the afternoon.

One decade after the revolution, Napolean Bonaparte seized control of the Republic and named himself Emperor. His armies conquered most of Europe and his Napoleonic Code became a lasting legal foundation for concepts of personal status and property.
During the period of colonization France controlled the largest empire in the world, second only to Britain.
France is one of the founding members of the European Union and the United Nations, as well as one of the nuclear armed nations of the world.
