Castle Pertenstein - Castle Patio
Oberbayern

Castle Pertenstein has survived more than 700 years of eventful history ever since. Under Barbara Lucia of Toerring-Stein, the estate rose in 1600 to a stately country castle with a thriving economy. Pertenstein was at this time Count's Hofmark with the right to exercise the lower jurisdiction. But already in the next generation it almost fell into ruin. In 1820, the Hofmark was converted into a second-class patrician community in Matzing / Pertenstein, from which the municipality of Matzing emerged in 1848.

The current owner is S.E. Hans Veit IV Count zu Toerring-Jettenbach. He handed over his second-oldest family estate to the "Heimatbund Schloss Pertenstein" e.V. in Erbpacht for 99 years. Under the motto "New life in old walls", efforts are being made together to preserve, renovate and restore this important cultural monument.

Today, Toerringer Castle has become a place of hospitality and culture worth visiting. The ensemble of the castle, the royal stables, the Tehentstadel and the circular hall provide the ideal setting for holding public and private events (such as weddings, corporate events, concerts and much more).

More About Oberbayern
