About Butch

I just turned sixty and was lucky to have a very rewarding career in rotary wing aviation.  I flew a couple of different helicopters for the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971.  From 1974 to 1997 I flew for the United States Park Police in Washington D.C.

I've been retired since 1997 and got my first digital camera that year an Apple Quick Take, and it still works.  A few years later I got a Nikon CoolPix 950 and a FC-E8 lens and started to shoot panoramas.

I've bought a lot of pano equipment but my most consistent rig is a Canon 5D mk2 with a Canon 15mm lens mounted on a 360Precesion Absolute pano head.  I just picked up a GigaPan head so I'll be shooting some GigaPan shoots in the near future.

In the next couple of weeks I plan a trip to southern Virginia to the D-Day Memorial and the Natural Bridge and hope to get some shots of Luray Caverns.  I hope you enjoy the shots!  Thanks for stopping by.
