There is a huge rock beside the road. Until January 2014, we can go on this road by a car. However, many cedar trees were cut by the heavy snowfall on February 2014, so no cars have gone on the road until then.

Shorinji was founded in 1570 by Ujiteru Hojo. The name of the temple is the same with the famous temple in China, but it seems there is no relation with the temple. The temple is known as the many azalea flowers.

The tree, Torreya Nucifera, is designated as a natural monument by Tokyo metropolitan government. It is 22 m high and 5.3 m circumference at the eye level. This is the largest tree of this species in Tokyo.

Kompira ridge is one of the hiking trail for families. It takes about an hour walk to the top of the Kompira mountain from the Itsukaichi station. Red flowers of Alzelea trees meet us.

In spring, the park, Hitachi Kaihin park is brightly decorated with blue Nemophila flowers. Many people come to this small hill to see the blue. In autumn, this same hill will be tinged with red leaves of Kochia trees.
