Looking from Montana Guajara (Tenerife's 3rd highest peak) on the edge of the caldera below Mount Teide.  Teide, the central volcano is 3718m high and last erupted in 1909.

River Ouse in flood, York

The river Ouse flood in flood from Ouse Bridge in York.  The river height was approx. 4.00m above normal.  In Nov 2000 the river reached a height of 5.40m above its normal level (its highest level in 400 years).

The frozen River Ouse taken from Kings Staith Landing. The Kings Arms pub can be seen next to Ouse bridge - famous for its flooding by the river. Skeldergate Bridge can also be seen.

The Millennium Bridge over the River Ouse in York.  The bridge forms part of the Sustrans cycle route and was opened in 2001.  The walkway is suspended from a stainless steel arch by a series of cables.

View from Clifford's Tower looking towards the Castle Museum.  The present stone tower was completed in 1259.  The original timber tower was built in 1068.

York Minster's South Transept lit up by colourful images at the "Illuminating York Festival".  The artwork called "Rose" is a 10 minute series of static and moving images accompanied by poetry and music.

York Minster - Looking towards the Great West Window and Towers.  The West Towers are 184ft (56m) in height and were completed in the year 1472.  The Pinnacles at the top are 30ft (9m) high.

The river behind the Birch Hall Inn at Beck Hole.  This is about one mile from Goathland with the North Yorkshire Moors Railway running along the top of the river bank.

Glenashdale Falls lie 1.5 miles west of Whiting Bay on Arran.  The picture was taken from the viewpoint walkway which gives a spectacular view of the falls.
