Shuffleboard Courts

Back in the 1950s when Shuffleboard was more popular, there were 12 courts here.  The surface, in those days, was smooth unpainted, waxed cement.  At the time the picture was taken, the 2012 Chautauqua season had ended.

In the Ravine

Walking on the dirt paths of the Ravine in Chautauqua gives you an idea of what the area must have looked like when Chautauqua was founded in 1874.  This pano was taken from 15 1/2 feet above the path.
