St. Martin's Church is a Franciscan church dating back to the year 1246. The red building opposite the church is the old town hall.

Originally built in 1303, the "Gerichtslaube" was the seat of the local courts and town clerks. These days, it is the town hall's canteen, with the 3-starred "Colombi"-restaurant nearby.

On top of the fountain opposite the town hall there is a statue of Berthold Schwarz, European inventor of "Schwarz-Pulver" (gun powder).

Once the connection between the railway station and the former "Kaiserstrasse", the Rathausgasse nowadays is bristling full of shoppers, at any rate not the way to go if you're in a hurry.
