As you come down the walkway from the Atlantic Pavilion you find another quote honoring those who built the arsenal of freedom.  You can just see the Capitol dome and of course the Washington Monument.

This is the NW side of the WW ll Memorial you can see the Freedom Wall and a small portion of the Lincoln Memorial.  From here you can also walk up to the Atlantic Pavilion which serves as the north entrance.

As you enter the plaza you can see all of the 56 granite pillars the encircle the memorial.  In this shot you can see one of the 24 bronze panels that depict scenes of life during the war.

One of the most impressive details of the memorial is the group of four eagles above each of the Pacific and Atlantic pavilions.  Each eagle holds a ribbon that suspends a wreath above the entrance.

This is my favorite memorial because it is very simple but yet very powerful.  These photos don't do justice to the size of the towers.  It is well worth the walk to see it.
