東澳古道位於大嶼山北部海岸路線，屬於行山徑熱選之一，由東涌作起點，終點為大澳，部分路徑可遠眺赤鱲角機場，既可觀賞飛機升降，又可以欣賞到紅樹林生態、深入傳統圍村探險、踩入大澳買蝦醬及掃地道小吃，開心又好玩！

東澳古道最後一段沿海山路既可欣賞附近一帶象山山丘，而終點大澳亦在望。將近到海旁水泥路前， 左面有梯級到"嶼北界碑"(嶼北界碑位於狗嶺涌)，而此路亦可駁回水泥路往水鄉。

東澳古道是大嶼山昔日最重要的古道之一, 由大嶼中部中心點東涌, 西沿海岸線往大澳, 途經多個大村落如散頭, 沙螺灣, 深石和深屈等。沿途盡覽機場, 屯門, 遠至深圳亦可見。由於嶼西北沒有馬路連接, 仍保留不少古舊村落, 如沙螺灣村, 深石村, 深屈村等, 在現代化下仍保持純樸鄉村特色。全條路徑以水泥小徑為主, 一半路有樹蔭, 起落差小, 是半天夏日郊遊的好路線, 若中午起步, 到達大澳約是黃昏, 可欣賞香港西面大澳水鄉的日落景色。
