  Captain Cook never actually set foot where the city of Melbourne now stands. He did live in this cottage in England but it was shipped out to Australia as a gift to the Australian people.

East of Melbourne is the town of Lilydale. It has a fair size main street and a well established cemetery. Although this cemetery is well maintained it is still possible to find some graves that are in bad repair.

It was January 2010 when we visited this area and was suprised there were still many alpine flowers growing. Australia has been experiencing a major drought and other parts of the country are suffering badly.
