Squeaky Beach got its name from the pure white quartz sand which makes a squeaky sound when walking on it. In summer Squeaky Beach is frequented by survers and swimmers.

Picnic Bay has one of the readily accessible sandy beaches in Wilsons Promontory National Park with Norman Island in the background. Swimming is not recommended but the bay is a good location to watch the sunset.
