Belle Isle Aquarium

The Belle Isle Aquarium opened on Belle Isle in 1904, but due to budget problems, was closed in 2005. Although Belle Isle is now a Michigan State Park, the reopened Aquarium is now operated by the Belle Isle Conservancy.

This picture was taken on a beautiful March evening in Detroit along the Detroit Riverwalk.  The RenCen is the home of General Motors and a Marriott hotel.  The skyline of Windsor, Ontario, can be seen across the river.
