A pittoresque little lane full of small shops and restaurants, cafés and pubs. Quite noisy at night which can be jolly tormenting for people living in the flats above.

The "Wolfshöhle" (Cave of the Wolfs) has held many proprietors: mostly used as a restaurant, nowadays it is in the italian style and, as such, enjoys quite a reputation. Opposite a café.

Once an abbey church, the "Augustiner" these days is a museum with an, even internationally, renowned collection of art dating back to gothical times.

The place outside of the "Augustiner" is, in summertime, a favourite meeting-point of the town's population. People sit here and chat, drink and sing, sometimes into the wee hours.

This spot marks the Northern limit of the old city center of Freiburg, which by now is a pedestrian zone. The old "Siegesdenkmal" has been moved West to make room for the streetcars.
