Published about 5 years ago by Matt Nolan

The terminus region of McCall Glacier under fog (16 June 08 08:44)

Published about 5 years ago by Matt Nolan

The terminus of McCall Glacier is often in fog or a bit wet.  It's probably a good place for cool glacier air to mix with warmer, wetter air from the tundra and condense.

The last of the drilling is complete (31 May 08 16:56)

Published about 5 years ago by Matt Nolan

The drilling is completed and we've lowered down our thermistor string, all the way to the bottom -- 200 meters!  Now its time to break everything down and ship it home.

Repeat photo of McCall Glacier (23May08 11:56)

This photo location was used in 1958 as a base station for surveying ice motion of the glacier.  Since we use GPS now, we just use this spot for taking photos document glacier change.
