Das Breithorn ist ein beliebter Viertausender. Trotzdem ist der Aufstieg nicht ganz harmlos. Wir müssen die Steigeisen montieren und sind die meiste Zeit auf dem Gletscher angeseilt.

An dieser Stelle ist der Furgg Gletscher nicht mehr mit Geröll bedeckt. Deshalb müssen wir die Steigeisen an den Schuhen befestigen.

Auf dem Furgg Gletscher hat das Schmelzwasser des Sommers eine tiefe Rinne ins Eis geschmolzen. Das Überqueren mit dem Gepäck ist nicht so einfach.

Nach der Überschreitung des oberen Theodulgletschers war die Gletschertour zu Ende. Nun konnten wir die Steigeisen abnehmen und die letzten Meter über den roten Fels zur Gandeghütte gehen.
