Here we have just extracted about 9 meters of snow, firn, and ice from from McCall Glacier. The drill laying in the snow gives some sense of how deep the hole is.

Ice cores from McCall Glacier stay frozen inside a freezer we constructed on the glacier. Once the box filled up, we shipped them out via ski plane.

Drumheller Alberta is home to the Royal Tyrell Museum, a world-class dinosaur museum. They surrounding town is a bit dinosaur crazy. You can actually climb up inside this one.
