Back in Jamestown's heyday, commercial property was in such demand that stores were built underneath the Main Street railroad viaduct.  If you look up, you can see evidence of electric wiring.

Looking South at 2 AM, 2 or 3 days past full, the moon sits almost on the meridien, with Venus below it to the West.  A nice clear still night so you can see a lot of stars.  The sea is very calm too.

Workmen were in the process of dismantling and removing the crane which had been used to erect the overhead beams.  The original bridge was removed earlier in the year.
