紅樹林保護區鄰近紅樹林捷運站,是北臺灣著名的生態公園,亦為候鳥遷移休息地,是賞鳥最佳勝地。 園內有大片水筆仔林及特有水生動物─招潮蟹與彈塗魚,形成一個特殊的生態系。除了原有的觀賞平臺、觀景高臺以及自動導覽系統外,並在保留區邊緣,依據生態工法設置了約40公尺長的「生態小徑」解說設施,成為一條融入環境教育理念的生態解說輔助設施,可以協助民眾能近距離的欣賞及觀察紅樹林生態之美
