Creek Council House, now in downtown Okmulgee, was built in 1876 in Indian Territory, 31 years before statehood. Now it is a museum open to the public.

Creek Council House built in 1876 for the Creek Nation government. The Creeks were forced from Alabama in 1829 to Oklahoma and were very successful in Oklahoma. It is now a museum and open to the public.
