往白馬咀Pak Ma Tsui的路是破爛石屎路，途中需要下超斜路，上斜路。一邊下超斜路，一邊看見火燒山，山被燒到光禿禿，看見後一點也不覺得高興。下斜後見到分叉路，轉右可以往白馬咀。往白馬咀的路有點沉悶，難度不高，只是有點靜，路途上一個人也遇不到，令人擔心會否進入無人到達的神秘領域。途中需要上落幾次，不過都不...(more)

途中可遠看雷打石山，在山腰處，像有兩個大石球正滾下山的奇景。下行至十字路口處，與榕北走廊交匯，左走可經鯽魚湖往北潭路，右邊小路通往榕樹澳。沿右前方的山徑繼續走上麥理浩徑，上行一段後至平緩處，於左方的小徑登上雷打石。

糧船灣洲內一個熱門遊船河的沙灘，灘後有小幅草地可作營地，由於有財團到白腊灣開發，使得整個白腊村及沙灘變得面目全非，昔日風光不再；白腊灣沙灘風景怡人，但每逢夏季假日遊人者眾 ；沙灘石頭較多，露營人事務必留意。

北潭涌係香港新界西貢半島南一撻地方。北潭涌響鯽魚湖南面，黃麖地東面，上窰北面。北潭涌原本有六條村，其中北潭涌村係18世紀起一條天主敎客家村。北潭涌響正兩條涌匯合之處，其中大嗰條叫龍坑，係北潭流入來，直流入海。因為呢條涌，所以呢度叫北潭涌。
