In the rainy season these places are filled with greenery. Water flow through each creek singsong. But, for most of the year dominated by a blue sky, startlingly blue.

The road from Chacana Huaurán is headed, but it is not finished yet. This stretch of penetration even not cross the river (now in 2013). Lack build within two kilometers of road.

The view from Paso Mesapata (4.460m) is dominated by Mt Pucahirca (6,040m) directlt opposite. Sitting below its many peaks are the two lakes of Safuna but only the lower one could be seen here.

Laguna Sactaycocha began to disappear into the shadow as the valley below, quebrada Janajanca was slowly engulfed by darkness.Yanacon Pass, also known as Pucahirca Pass at 4,610m a.s.l. was my last hurdle of the day.
