The Meskendir cave church is a cross-vaulted dome church with red ornamental paintings directly on the wall. It is inside a tuff rock above one of the wonderful Cappadocian valleys.

Stephanos chapel in the Archangelos monastery near Ürgüp in Cappadocia, with Byzantine frescoes. According to an inscription the chapel can be dated to 1217/18 .

Archangelos monastery near Ürgüp in Cappadocia, with  Byzantine frescoes. Although they are covered from soot there is a lot visible. The monastery was in use until the 1st world war.
