On my detour from the standard route from Alpe Scaredi to In la Piana I was looking for a nice spot to take a break. I wanted three things: a grassy spot to rest on, a stream and some shade. Here I've found it all.

Alpe Campo di sopra can be reached by a detour from the trail leading down from Alpe Scaredi to In la Piana. The Alpe is in ruins, only a few stones remain.

The ruins of alpe Zucchero are on a little hill just above alpe Vou sopra, where the Bivacco is. There isn't much left but a few walls and foundations. From the hilltop, there's a nice view around.

Monte del Sangiatto is easily accessed by a short detour from the 'W' route from Crampiolo to Fondovalle. Since it's a fine, clear day, I take the opportunity for a summint panorama.

Passo del Muretto is on the 'W' route from Crampiolo to Fondovalle. I take the last opportunity for a view back to the west before descending towards Valle Antigorio.

Alpe Ratagina is situated below Alpe Lago on the descent to Ponte Faugiol. After a spell of winterly weather, the sun has returned and the snow is quickly melting.

Bocchetta di Terza is the pass from Val Pogallo to upper Valle Cannobina. Like all passes crossing into the central area of Val Grande National Park, it's around 1800 m high.

Having crossed Albrun Pass, I don't descend to Lago di Devero, which can be seen from here - instead I take the GTA and continue to Scatta Minoia, to take shelter in the Bivacco for the night.

The Albrun pass is situated on the Swiss-Italian border and only reachable on foor. It connects Binn Valley and Lago di Dévero. The crossing isn't difficult, and the varied terrain makes for a beatiful walk.

Campo Aostano is in Valle Anzasca above Vanzone. most of the terrain in the vicinity is sloped, so this area of undulating, rather flat landscape comes as a surprise.
