A step ascent in very windy conditions between Kagbeni and Muktinath. Many Indian people, including the elderly, come on pilgrimage here to an important Shiva temple in Muktinath.

A donkey train meanders along the dried up Gandakhi River, between the villages of Jomsom and Kagbeni. Here the winds come howling in after midday. Best to get your trekking done first thing in morning.
