The peak of the trail! According to the trail map at the bottom, this trail was built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1908 and climbs up the steep crater wall to Fire Control Station Diamond Head at the summit.

The crater floor appears to be from another world, so quiet and simple with native grasses and views of the crater rim in every direction. Hard to believe this floor was once liquid.
