The sun sets on Waikiki beach as onlookers take in the sight. Clouds roll overhead promising light rain through the night. The torches along the beachwalk are lit, and the Waikiki nightlife begins.

The sun begins to set on another gorgeous day in on Waikiki Beach. This scene was taken right besides Kuhio Beach Park, where cultural presentations, including hula dances, occur frequently.

Non-stop pick-up volleyball games can be watched here. Some of the participants are scantily clad. Lots of fun if you think you've got game.

This park, located on the Hale Koa Grounds to the southeast sees lots of sun bathers. Close to all manner of water sport rentals as well as two sand volleyball courts.

Beautiful courtyard at the Hale Koa Hotel. Lobby is open to the air on all sides. Courtyard frequently hosts musical venues (we saw big band and rock/blues while we were here).

Wonderful purple flowers outside the Hale Koa Hotel formed a great backdrop to many photos...including this one. Wedding parties were brought here for photographs.

Magnificent tree in the courtyard of the Hale Koa Hotel. Not sure what kind it is but it appears that there are roots growing down from the branches, really spectacular.

Park on the northwest of Hale Koa Resort's property. Frequent concerts and events are held here. On our second night we saw a private luau here.

Great location outside of the Shore Birds Restaurant (where you can grill your own steak) for views of Diamaond Head to the east and sunsets to the west!

I'm told that the ship that embarks from here takes passengers to the submarine ride. Didn't ride on the submarine but it looked like it was a pretty busy spot.

Breathtaking view of Hilton resort from the water, sort of. I remember seeing the tile artwork on the side of this hotel as a kid, probably watching Hawaii Five-O.

Another beautiful spot on the Hilton resort grounds. I didn't eat at this restaurant but it wouldn't take much to convince me to try it. The ambiance alone is probably worth the price of admission.

One of the beautiful places on the Hilton resort grounds. At first I wondered who would want to spend time in the lagoon when Waikiki Beach is just steps away, but there was no shortage of takers.

This is an amazing view of Waikiki Beach on the island of Oahu, HAwaii. This 360 degree panorama was taken from a helicopter. A full virtual tour is available at http://www.kulanamedia.com/projects/oahu360
