Dieses Panorama entstand an der idyllischsten Stelle in Wernigerode. Der Kuhbornteich liegt im oberen Teil des Stadtteils Hasserode. Unweit von hier befindet sich ein, in diesen Breiten seltener, Mammutbaum (Redwood).

Die "Steinerne Renne" ist ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel für Einheimische und Touristen. Hier befindet sich auch ein Hotel und ein SB Restaurant. Die Wanderung von Wernigerode bis hierher ist mühsam, aber besonders reizvoll.

Nachdem dieser Turm jahrzehntelang als Ruine die Landschaft verunzierte, wurde er 1992 wieder neu errichtet und bietet zahlreichen Wanderfreunden einen grandiosen Ausblick auf die Stadt Wernigerode.
