Bodø Air Show 2012 (2)
Norway

Bodø Air Ahow, held 16 & 17 June 2012, hosted a large number of old planes - with this the among the oldest one still flying - the Bleriot XI. This type of air craft first visited Norway in 1910, when the Swedish nobleman baron Carl Cederström flew a display show at Oslo (former Christiania), and thus the first air craft to do a flight in Norway. This is one of the oldest, flying examples of Norwegian aviation history!

The plane is now owned by Mikael Carlson, who has built and restored his Bleriot XI himself. It was finished in 1991, and have been on regular flights since then. It has even crossed the Channel – 90 years after the creator of the air craft, Louis Blériot, did it in 1909! The plane was shipped to Bodø in a container, and assembled the day before the show.
