The Irikla water basin, the largest artificial reservoir of the southern Ural, was built in 1949-1957 years with the purpose to guarantee the water supply of the Eastern and Central parts of the Orenburg region. Its filling began on April 17, 1958 and was completed on may 8, 1966, when for the first time has been reached the design mark - 245 meters above sea level. In the morning of 19 May, 2012.
