The Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and the Monastery of the Franciscans were built in Pinsk in 1766. In 1817 a multi-tier belfry was built as an attachment to the monastery. Now this architectural complex on the banks of the Pina River is the largest Baroque monument in Belarus.
