There is still a pub named for one called the Green King, which was accross the road from it but is now redevelloped as desirable residences. There was also a large flower mill on the Lea, the river running through Ware, which is now a large block of flats.
The main industry, and largest employer by far in the vicinity, is the pharmaceutical giant, Glaxo Smith Kline (GSK)
