On June 9th, 1912, Josiah B. Moore, his wife Sarah, and their four children attended church services. After church, two friends of their daughter accompanied the Moore family to their home to spend the night. The next morning, all were found dead, victims of a brutal ax murder that remains unsolved to this day.
This is their kitchen, where a bowl of bloody water was found on the table the morning following the murders. It was presumably used by the killer to clean up after committing the crimes.
Today, the Moore's house has become famous for its paranormal activity. In the Travel Channel's show "The Most Terrifying Places in America", the Ax Murder House rated as the #1 most terrifying place.
