The Guadiana passes, though it´s tributaries of Múrtiga anda Ardila, the small village of Barrancos, tied as it by an umbilical corn to the legendary Moura. Although with another name, the waters of the Guadiana have marked the character of this city, leaving traces such as the watermills in Cadaval, Cuba, Pipa and Vinha. Food requirements and the importance of wheat led them to build watermills as well as windmills throughout the Baixo Guadiana. There are very few remaining watermills in good condition and some of them are located precisely in Barrancos
