The music industry operates under very different conditions than the film industry, just as music festivals and film festivals do. MOFFOM was founded to build synergy between these two worlds. MOFFOM is primarily a film festival and secondarily a music festival, with a rich assortment of live music and film events that take advantage of the festival’s unique main venue, the historic Lucerna Palace in Prague. MOFFOM has become a major event on the city’s cultural calendar and has expanded to other cities across the Czech Republic. In the global sense, MOFFOM has pioneered the concept of the music film festival as part of a larger network with comparable festivals in more than 10 countries. In October 2007 the Association of Music Film Festivals was established in Prague.
