A mountain ridge bisects the Los Angeles basin. It starts where Sunset meets the sea and ends here, at Elysian Park, a great under-used park, at walking distance from the heart of Los Angeles. Standing at the base of this sculpture one looks out over Dodger Stadium and downtown. The Hollywood Sign and Griffith Park are on the ridge further west.

The spectacular Frank Gehry designed stainless steel building can be seen gleaming in the sunlight from most of downtown Los Angeles. It is the 4th venue and the centerpiece of the Los Angeles Music Center. It was a gift from the late Lillian Disney (the widow of Walt Disney) to the people of Los Angeles the city that had "done so much" for her and her late husband, Walt.
