The Santo Cristo Chapel and the Fuente de los Caños Side by side in the middle of Rivero Street and near to the entrance of Ferrera Park lie the little Santo Cristo chapel and the Fuente de los Caños. Both are popular Avilés landmarks, dating from happier times for the city. Nowadays Avilés -basically a coal and steel town during the last two centuries- faces the difficult task of reinventing itself and projecting a brighter future.
