在此處，從東北方的鼻頭角、水湳洞、陰陽海、基隆山主峰與東峰（石尫山）、十三層遺跡、長仁廢煙道、黃金瀑布、金水公路、金瓜石聚落、茶壺山、半平山、燦光寮山、本山等，皆可一覽無疑，非常壯觀。遠景之壯觀，加上報時山上長滿芒草，所以到了秋冬季時，芒草搖曳生姿，一陣風吹來，整片山的芒草就宛如波浪般地搖動，美不勝收。
