A construção da Catedral de Cusco, localizada na Plaza de Armas, iniciou-se em 1560 e durou mais de cem anos. A estrutura principal da igreja foi erguida sobre o palácio do inca Wiracocha e muitas pedras da fortaleza Sacsayhamán também foram utilizadas em sua construção.
